Hear my cry
In my hungering search for you
Taste my breath on the wind
See the sky
As it mirrors my colours
Hints and whispers begin

  Meeting, the First

Once, many, many moons ago, I had two friends. These friends were concerned by my lack of interest in life, post-significant relationship. In an attempt to bring cheer to my then-dull life, these two friends separately took measures into their own hands...measures that, at the time, and a converse effect upon the other.

One friend issued an invitation to spend the day at a local mall having professional pictures taken by one of those 'glamour' photographers that were so prolific in the 90's. The other issued an invitation to visit and meet his friends.

Both ideas, at the time, were equally appealing.

So off to the photographers we went. And there was much fun. And rejoicing. And money spent. And much makeup. Much, much, MUCH makeup. It was immediately after this first venture out from my cave-like apartment that I decided to take up my other friend on his offer to meet people. So I went, armed with my photographed friend. And we thought that our makeup, while heavy, looked fairly okay. So we neglected to wash before driving.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with much fear and apprehension at our, now hideous, appearances. Never the less, my friend introduced us to all of his friends.

This was how I met Tony. With cake makeup caking my face. He wasn't impressed.

I didn't really care at that point. After all, I didn't know him yet.

We stayed for a short while, conversed, then left. And such were the events of the first meeting.
